Fall in the 'hood means plenty of weekend activity. Miss Vicky will try to keep up but is experiencing hardware difficulties, and as much as she enjoys the Webgeek's Playbook, it is not so fun for longer writing stints.
So, a quick update on this weekend's fun. Specifically, Saturday's fun.
The annual Hintonburg Harvest Festival takes place between noon and 4pm at the Parkdale Market park. This is a great event for kids, with dance contests, a bouncy castle, trolley rides and performances by the local hip hop crews.
Every year features a baking challenge. This year is apple pie, so if you think you've got the best pastry in the 'burg, bring your pie by 12:30 for judging.
The organizers could use some help with baking and other tasks. , and The Carleton.
We are still looking for volunteers and donations of baking. Please come and enjoy the day or volunteer your time.

If you are not too tuckered out, the fine folks who live around Iona Park are putting on Ionapalooza, a family concert in the park starting at 4pm. Headlining is Wee G's favourite band, Hey Buster!, as well as
Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy some open air music and fun. They will have food & refreshments for sale at the concert.
